What is the Medical Codes?
The Medical Codes feature is a core component of the Corti API. It enables automated prediction of medical codes by analyzing conversational data, previously generated documents, or direct text inputs. This feature simplifies coding workflows, ensures accuracy in medical documentation, and maintains compliance with standard coding systems such as ICD-CM, ICD-PCS, and CPT.
Medical codes are predicted based on the following inputs:
Previous generated documents/notes.
Identify codes directly from text inputs.
Benefits of Using the Codes Endpoint:
Seamless Integration: Customers have full control over how they integrate coding into their workflows, ensuring compatibility with existing systems.
Enhanced Accuracy: AI-powered predictions reduce errors, improving the reliability of documentation and billing.
Time Savings: Automation decreases the time clinical coders spend on manual coding, allowing them to focus on higher-value tasks.
Why Are Medical Codes Important?
Medical codes play a vital role in healthcare by:
Standardizing Billing and Reimbursement: Facilitates communication between providers and payers.
Ensuring Compliance: Aligns documentation with ICD and CPT standards, reducing audit risks.
Improving Efficiency: Streamlines workflows for coders and administrators.
Enhancing Data Insights: Supports healthcare analytics and decision-making.
