Corti Assistantā€™s Multilingual and Code-Switching Capabilities

Corti Assistant is designed to support the dynamic nature of multilingual clinical conversations, particularly for scenarios where English and Spanish are used interchangeably. This functionality allows for seamless transitions between English and Spanish within a single conversation, capturing each language as it is spoken. Hereā€™s how Corti Assistant can help in multilingual environments:

Code-Switching: English and Spanish

Corti Assistant currently supports code-switching between English and Spanish. In a clinical setting where both languages are usedā€”whether by a clinician, patient, or interpreterā€”the system can accurately transcribe dialogue in both languages. This enables more fluid, natural interactions without losing context or requiring separate translations.

  • Transcription Language: When code-switching between English and Spanish, Corti Assistant documents each language segment as spoken. So, if part of the conversation is in English and another part is in Spanish, both will appear in the final transcript in their respective languages, without automatic translation into one unified language.

Other Supported Languages (Single Language Use)

In addition to bilingual English-Spanish support, Corti Assistant currently supports more than 10 other languages for single-language conversations. For example, if a clinical conversation is entirely in French or German, Corti Assistant can transcribe it accurately.

Future Language Expansion

Corti is actively working to expand its language capabilities to support more multilingual scenarios, particularly for healthcare environments that serve diverse populations. While code-switching is currently available only for English and Spanish, expanding this capability to include additional languages.
