Our Mission
Updated over 2 weeks ago

At Corti, we recognize a critical global challenge: a severe shortage of medically trained professionals, paired with an ever-widening gap in access to quality healthcare. Our mission is to change that. This is the legacy we aim to build.

The Burning Platform

By 2030, we will be missing more than 10 million healthcare workers, a number projected to continue to grow. This shortage is exacerbated by heavy administrative burdens and increasing cases of physician burnout, contributing to inefficiency and a decline in the quality of patient care globally. Over the past decades, the growth in administrative staff in healthcare has exploded by more than 3,000%, vastly outpacing the number of doctors.

Still, doctors spend one-third of their time doing administration themselves to keep up, leaving them battling burnout, lawsuit risk, and an increasing number of patients. This rigged system has made doctors among the professionals most at risk of committing suicide, with more than 70% of professionals suffering from stress.

Sadly, the conditions aren't about to change. Hospitals are grappling with inflationary costs and financial instability, payers are navigating rising medical loss ratios, and biopharmaceutical companies are facing diminishing R&D returns, leaving nobody with the surplus energy and initiative to rethink the system.

When health starts to diminish, uncertainty sets in and behavior starts to change. The World Bank published research showing that countries with inadequate healthcare infrastructure suffer higher death rates from preventable and treatable conditions like heart disease, infections, and childbirth complications. The OECD found that countries with strong public health programs and better access have significantly higher rates of social mobility.

Conversely, those with poor healthcare systems face a "poverty trap," as poor health affects education outcomes and lifetime earnings potential.

The Mission

We want to ensure that everyone has access to medical expertise, no matter where they are, and we believe artificial intelligence is part of the solution. By guaranteeing equitable access to care, regardless of location or identity, we level the playing field for millions, reduce costs for even more, and foster greater trust in society. Even if our impact starts small, it will have massive reverberations at scale.

We are on a mission to ensure everyone has access to medical expertise, no matter where they are.

At Corti, we have trained AI to participate in patient interactions as a silent listener, acting as a helpful assistant capable of writing notes, offering suggestions, and providing real-time reminders that bridge knowledge and information gaps. The goal is to ensure that the variation in how patients experience their care journey is minimized.

By harnessing longitudinal and personal medical data, Corti serves as a bridge between past and future, enabling healthcare professionals to access and apply gold-standard insights in a personalized manner, tailored to the individual patient. This effectively transforms patient care from an isolated experience into a self-reinforcing system of global improvement, reducing risk, variation, and administrative burden.

To summarize we at Corti imagine a world where every person on Earth has access to the most informed medical assessment possible through a personable and reliable artificial intelligence, aimed at eradicating preventable misdiagnosis forever and significantly reducing the administrative and emotional burdens on healthcare professionals and patients alike.
